Healing Wounds and Injuries With Redmond Clay? It Can Be Done!

One of the products you'll hear us praising quite often is Redmond Clay - the healing powers are truly amazing for so many different issues and ailments. Here's just one example of how effective Redmond Clay can be for treating wounds and injuries. I was able to heal my bicycle injury very quickly and without any swelling or bruises by using a clay poultice.
Using Redmond Clay as a poultice draws infection-causing elements from the wound.
Poultices are one of the most effective ways to use natural materials for first aid and topical uses. A poultice can use whole-plant material, or in the case of our example: clay.
Poultices are made simply by using the clay or plant materials and liquid to make a paste for application. I made a poultice for my wound and wrapped it with plastic wrap to keep it in place. I left it on as long as possible, I could feel the throbbing heat through the cling film and actually strongly felt the pain diminishing... ! I repeated this process twice as I read that once the clay draws all the bad stuff out, it needs to be replaced. The result was a remarkably clean wound that healed quickly - without scarring. The fact that all the dirt and dust was painlessly drawn out was a great bonus as no one likes the painful brushing and cleaning of the wound (I still remember the painful first aids from my childhood accidents!) I was very surprised to see that an imminent bruise on my elbow has not materialized and the bone stopped hurting soon. Without clay I would have been in so much pain and the elbow bone would have hurt much more.
How Does It Work?
It might seem a bit counter-intuitive to rub clay on an open wound, but it's proven to be a very helpful first aid treatment! While you might think that clay from the ground would be "dirty," Redmond Clay is actually incredibly pure and clean.
The clay draws out impurities in much the same way as when taken internally. Bentonite clay attracts toxins like a magnet, drawing them out of the wound to clean it out very thoroughly and prevent infection.
The healing properties all work together: pulling out infection-causing elements and forming a barrier to keep them out! People are always surprised at how clean the wound looks after using the clay.
Keeping a wound clean is the most important aspect of healing - bentonite clay is an incredibly effective method!
How to Use Redmond Clay for First Aid
  1. Flush the wound out with clean, cool water.
  2. Apply a generous layer of Redmond Clay over the entire area.
  3. Cover the clay with plastic wrap, bandages, or cheesecloth to hold the clay in place and prevent it from drying out.
  4. Leave the clay on for an hour or more, depending on the severity of the injury.
  5. Rinse with warm water - repeat as needed.
This method will be effective for healing a number of different types of injuries:
  • Wounds
  • Burns
  • Insect bites and stings
  • Scrapes
Even many types of rashes will be soothed by using Redmond Clay this way!
