Can Tuscan Olive Oil Reduce Kidney Disease?

The main function of kidneys, in the human body, is to flush out any trace of waste from the blood stream. The waste in question is typically found when nutrients are broken down from the food that we consume. As you can imagine, then, kidneys must not only be presented but maintained with strong diets set in place. If you are curious as to what said diets entail, you may want to focus on those which entail the presence of Tuscan olive oil.

As Olive Oil Times reported, kidney disease may be reduced in part to the Mediterranean diet. It's not hard to see why this hypothesis came into being, especially when you see how such a diet has been looked at as a positive influence towards heart-healthiness as the like. Kidney health is another story, though. Nonetheless, Columbia University Medical Center professional Dr. Minesh Khatri decided to focus on this matter with a study.

The study that Khatri facilitated observed a total of 900 individuals, whom took part in the Mediterranean diet. In order to better see the results of said study, a points system was put into place. Once the study concluded and the results were gathered, it was found that there was a 50 percent decrease in kidney disease risk, as it relates to the Mediterranean diet. For those who are hungry for some details, there are a few worth addressing.

Kidneys are able to be helped by the Mediterranean diet, whether it's in regards to Tuscan olive oil or not.
