What To Look For When Buying A Chilled Drink Dispenser

By Tammie Caldwell

If you are interested in being able to serve your guests delicious drinks, you may think that you have all the bases covered. If you don't have a chilled drink dispenser, however, you may be missing an important piece of equipment that can help you serve beverages that your guests will love to drink.

If you have started your search you will have noticed that there are many different models to choose from. It can be overwhelming and frustrating to go shopping if you don't know which features to look for. Here are some things to consider that may make it easier to select a model that will suit your needs.

The number of guests you will serve is important too. If you buy a unit that is too small, you may find that you need to refill the reservoir several times during your event. This may not bother some hosts especially if you plan to switch out the type of beverage you serve several times. If you want to make sure that you buy a unit you only need to fill once, however, a larger reservoir may be an important feature you should search for.

Some people will prefer to serve pop or other carbonated beverages. This may mean that they look for a different type of server than individuals who are serving flat drinks would look for. Remember that pop tends to go flat the longer it is exposed to the air. If you love fizzy drinks, look for models that allow your drinks to keep their bubbles for as long as possible.

You may also want to think about how many drinks you will be serving at one time. This will help you decide whether you want a dispenser with a single reservoir, or one that will allow you to serve multiple types of beverages at the same time. Keep in mind that models with more than one reservoir will be more expensive and will also take up more space on your counter and while you are storing it.

The length of time that a particular beverage will need to stay cold is also important. There are units that are insulated so that temperatures inside do not change as quickly. There are also units that plug in and which can keep the liquids inside chilled to a specific temperature. You may want to consider whether you will have a place to plug in your machine and this can influence whether or not you purchase a particular model.

Shopping is the last step and should only be done once you have a good idea of what features you are most interested in. While these items used to be hard to find, they are much more common these days. If you want to find models to choose from you can find them both at kitchen supply stores as well as ones that cater to restaurants.

It may be frustrating to look at different models and ultimately make your choice. However, it can be really worthwhile to purchase one of these units especially if you are someone who loves to serve drinks to your guests and want them to be cool and refreshing.
