Awesome Ingredients For The Best Homemade Body Scrub

When making a homemade body scrub, you want to be able to make the best homemade body scrub suitable for your own body. It is important to know what ingredients really will work for you. Everyone's skin is different and will respond differently to each ingredient used in the mixture.
As exfoliation is an important part of skincare and maintenance, using really great ingredients will make your scrub experience go from a weekly routine scrub to something enjoyable that you will look forward to doing. And you will also find that you will look forward to that time out from the rest of the world to do something for yourself.
However, there are a few ingredients that are considered awesome to include and they provide benefits to most skin types. The trick here is to consider the ingredients for your skin type, try it out and see what you think of the results. Then, fine tune the mixture by adding or taking out ingredients depending on what you like or don't like on your skin.
Here is the list of what I consider to be awesome ingredients to make the best homemade body scrub.
  • Coconut Oil: This one goes without saying as it is one of the most nourishing and wonderful natural ingredient to use. It is fantastic for all skin types, especially if your skin is feeling dry or neglected. It does come as a solid, so either persist with mixing it into the mixture with a spoon or you can warm it up gently.
  • Brown Sugar: Brown sugar is another one of nature's gifts and is great for facial scrubs due to it being a gentle abrasive component. Brown sugar also is a natural form of AHA which is a chemical exfoliate. The level of AHA is very low but does help contribute great results when it is used a scrub.
  • Honey: This ingredient is a little different as not many people would think of including it into the mixture. In fact, honey is extremely nourishing and contains many essential nutrients for the skin. It is made up of sugar which is mainly glucose and fructose (around 80%), minerals and elements such as Magnesium, Calcium, and Phosphorus, Zinc, copper as well as various amino acids. There are also vitamins B1, B2, C, B6, B5 and B3 which are beneficial for the skin too.
  • Dead Sea Salt: Dead sea salt has been clinically proven to be extremely beneficial when it is used on the skin. It contains high levels of Sodium (less than in normal sea salt), Magnesium, Zinc, Potassium, Calcium Chloride and Bromides to name a few. All of these minerals are present in the human body but due to stress and the natural course of life, they can be lost from the body. Dead sea salt is great to use as an all over body scrub, especially on dry skin.
  • Bananas: Banana is an ingredient that few people would consider using. Mashed up in a body or facial scrub really can offer some great benefits ( as well as smell great!) Bananas contain a high amount of vitamins B6 and C which are essential for skin care and to help with anti-aging.
It really is so simple, cheap and easy to use these ingredients which are possibly even in your pantry at home! You can add other ingredients to these, and even look at including essential oils if you would like to include aromatherapy benefits too.
